The Department of Child Care and Family Studies （CCFS）, as renamed in 2009, is the first program offered in a technological university in southern Taiwan. The program provides a foundation for students who choose to pursue a career in the area of early childhood care and family services. It provides a four-year college program, junior college program, senior college program, and graduate program as well. CCFS is a qualified preschool education and education personnel training department approved by the Ministry of Education （MOE）. Graduates from CCFS can obtain the qualifications of “preschool teachers,” “early childcare stuff,” “family education professionals,” and the "Family Educators Certification” which are certified by MOE. In order to provide students with high-quality field practice, CCFS undertakes a number of government-industry cooperation programs, including the Fourth and Fifth Center of Family Childcare Service in Kaohsiung City, the public nursery centers and child care resources centers in Kangshan and Chienchin, and two affiliated preschools of Shu-Te University in Minong, and Tsuiping.
